Origins of Orouba & Basma Frozen Foods
Orouba Agrifoods processing Co. is a subsidary of AJWA Holding
for Food industries. It was founded in 1998 with an authorised
capital of LE 100 million, paid in capital of LE 60 million and
overall investment costs of LE 80 million. The firm's initial
investment was the construction of a large plant for processing
frozen vegetables and breaded products.
Overview
Orouba Agrifoods Co. is one of the Middle East's biggets names
in frozen vegetables. The Basma brand has received an enthusiastic
reception within the local and international markets with energetic
and professional staff of 390, the company processes approximately
18,000 tons of frozen vegetables as well as 1,800 tons of value
added products.
Plant
Orouba built a 20,000 sqm modern processing plant in 1999,
located 15 minutes from Cairo by car. Designed by professional
experts and powered by the latest hi-tech equipment from the most
famous multinational companies in this field. All packaging areas
are air-conditioned and two seperated cold stores of 3,000 cubic
metres are integrated into the plant.

In the year 2000, Orouba Agrifoods Processing Co. was
ISO9001/2000 certified by the German TUV body. In 2005 we were
HACCP certified. For this reson, we have a modern equipped
laboratory that supports our main objective in producing high
quality and safe products

Orouba succeeded to export its quality products to many
countries around the world in a short time, including:
